Beetle Road Stories

We created an interactive digital experience where users could take a virtual test drive through Canada and enter for a chance at a brand new Beetle Classic by submitting their own personal Beetle stories.

Production Highlights:

  • Our team of developers spent weeks on using Google Streetview APIs to prototype and build a unique virtual experience to give users a whirlwind drive through specific locations around Canada.

  • Universal Artists created video content with some of their major musicians, including Jan Arden and Mother Mother, to live on the homepage. Plus, they provided music facts to base our virtual tour locations around.

  • 360 degree imaging was captured inside real Beetle cars for users to experience an interior tour of the car from their homes.

  • Moderating hundreds of contest submissions included super personal stories of our users’ own nostalgic experiences riding in a Beetle.
