Membership is Rewarding

This multi-year TV campaign demonstrated that BCAA Members can find savings in some surprising places.

My Role: Agency Broadcast Producer

Shoot Location: Vancouver

“Crybaby” 30 sec TV spot

Production Highlights:

  • A mix of practical effects and VFX shots were combined to create the visual gags for each spot. One script required a cheeky squirrel. Our timeline was too short to train a real squirrel (trust me, I looked into it), so a computer generated one was added instead in post production.

  • You know the saying “never work with children or animals”? Over the course of 10 spots, we had cats, pigeons, kids, babies (and backup babies) on set.

  • One spot’s joke about bald spots garnered no less than 3 official complaints to the Canadian telecaster association. A touchy subject amongst viewers apparently.
